A busy autumn
It has been a busy Autumn for the German Saturday School. In September, we moved to our new premises, Hillcrest Primary School and 35 children settled into their new classrooms. As well as our great classrooms, we also now have an area for parents to have a cup of coffee and also browse our new library of German books, tapes and DVDs. We had visits from Horst Marschall, geologist and Antarctic explorer, and Jörn Hintz, beekeeper, to talk about their fascinating jobs. The children also learned about St Martin and made lanterns for our St Martins Parade. This was held together with the German Playgroup and (as can be seen by the photo) was very well attended - there were more than 100 people at the walk! In December we took part in the Hillcrest School Fair with a stand selling waffles and advent wreaths. A big thank you to all those who help on the stall, donated waffle dough and the advent wreaths.
