New committee elected
On 11th November 2009 the German Saturday School Bristol held its second Annual General Meeting, including the election of the school committee.
We are pleased to announce that many of last year's committee members have agreed to continue their successful work, and we also welcome three new members: Andrea Piggott is taking over the administration of the school’s website, and Daniela Gieseler-Higgs will be responsible for marketing. It was also agreed unanimously that the committee should include a representative of the teachers, and lead teacher Johanna Browman was elected as the third new committee member.
Three members, however, were not standing for re-election: Katja Durrani, founding member of the school and its first chair (recently, membership and website), Matthew Webster (fundrasing) and Suzanne Held.
A full list of committee members and their email addresses can be found here.
At the AGM, Nadya Webster, our chair, gave a round-up of the year while Angela Helbling, our treasurer, presented our end-of-year accounts. They show that, although we made a small loss in the last academic year, we still have reserves available from our fundraising activities. Johanna Browmann, our lead teacher, gave us a brief round-up of the last academic year while Charlotte Hellmich told us about how successful the DeutschClub project has been so far.
