Holidays are here!
Now that the Easter holidays are here, it is time to reflect on what has happened during the first term of the German Saturday School.
The children have certainly learned a lot -- we've covered colours, families and places in German-speaking countries as well as festivals like Karneval and Easter -- but what is also clear is how much the children have benefited from meeting and mixing with other pupils who speak German as well.
We have also started setting up a library, which already boasts over 70 items, including books, DVDs and cassette tapes. Parents who wish to donate items to the library should bring them to the school or get in touch with the school's secretary Nadya Webster (email:nadya.webster@schule-bristol.org).
It is likely there will be a few changes to the school, especially from the next school year. We have e-mailed parents to provide comments on the first term and various aspects of the school. There will soon be a survey, probably on this website, for parents who wish to send their children to the school but have not yet done so -- because, say, they could not make Saturday mornings.
The next term starts on Saturday 26 April -- so see you then and enjoy the Easter break if you can.
