AGM
On 8 October 2008 we held our first AGM. We adopted a new constitution which is based on the model constitution of the Charity Commission, and also some rules specific to our organisation, the so-called bye-laws. Below you can find the "Objectives" of our school which are part our new Constitution.
Also, a new committee was elected.
Here you can find the full agenda.
Objectives
"The objectives of the German Saturday School, Bristol are to provide a supplementary school for German-speaking children as well as children interested in learning German, who live in the Bristol area. The aim is to promote and advance language education and to further the children’s understanding of both written and spoken German in an environment where they can actively experience the language, not only by forging friendships with other children in surroundings where German will be spoken predominantly, but also by learning about the culture, history and geography of German-speaking regions.
One of the school’s focal points is to provide a centre in the Bristol area for the culture of German-speaking regions, and to promote German language and culture within the wider community. The school will be accessible to all children with an interest in German language and culture. The German Saturday School will support this goal further through organised events, such as celebrating traditional customs and festivals of German-speaking regions, which are open to the wider community."
