Invitation to the Annual General Meeting Saturday 2nd October at 10am

To all members:

We invite you to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the German Saturday
School. This will be taking place on Saturday 2nd October 2010, 10am, at the
Barton Hill Settlement. We will be making some important decisions at this
meeting and it is vital that all members attend.

We urgently need new committee members! A number of current committee
members are stepping down from their respective roles. Most importantly, Nadya
Webster will no longer be serving as chairperson, and we urgently need a person
who is willing to take her place. This role could also be shared with a newly created
vice chair post. We furthermore need a new secretary, a member in charge of staff
management, a member specifically concerned with the adult classes, and a
further member responsible for the organisation of special events. Of course, if you
are willing to serve on the committee but would rather not take on a pre-defined
role that would be fine as well! The future of the school critically depends on
volunteers contributing to various areas of activity, and we need your support! A
summary of the main responsibilities of our committee members is attached.

Anyone who would like to volunteer for a post must do so in writing to me at
the postal address below. We simply need you to give your name, address and
signature and the name of the post you wish to volunteer for. This can also be
done at the AGM shortly before the start of the meeting.

You can propose someone for a post, but you should have their permission to do so
and need their signature. This can also be done shortly before the start of the AGM.

Anyone can attend the AGM, but you must be a member in order to vote at the
AGM or to volunteer for a post. If you have not yet paid your membership fee for
2010/11, please do so by downloading the relevant forms from our website, or you
can pay at the AGM to become a member.

If you would like to add an agenda item, please do so in writing to me by 24th
September.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch. This is your
chance to have a say in how the school is run and to get involved, so we
hope to see you on Saturday October 2nd!
